Here’s an
introduction to a restless minded writer. My name is Julie Kieu. I like to
think of myself as a “Jack of all trades” because I can’t seem to focus on one area
for expertise. For example, my hobbies include: reading, photography,
longboarding, playing instruments (guitar, ukulele), and so much more. But! I
like to think that this allows me to experience more in my life without
limitations. Aside from hobbies, I am all up for a relaxing day every once in a
while, doing absolutely nothing and not having to worry about work, school, and
social obligations.
On the academic
side, I am currently a sophomore Psychology major with a minor in Nonprofit
Management at the University of Oklahoma. I’m wanting to become a Counseling
Psychologist or anything similar in that area. I love helping people, and I
feel like the best way I can contribute is to listen to people and counsel them
the best I can. Somewhere along the way, I’m hoping to join or create a
nonprofit and give my assistance for free counseling. Preferably, I would like
to work with young children to high school students, but I am open to specializing
with older people as well.
Here are
some fun facts about my life: I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life, but I
want to move to New York or Seattle in the future. My favorite color is blue,
and my lucky number is 7. I have a nerdy side that loves Harry Potter, Doctor
Who, and other fandoms. I want to travel the world and start a collection of
something from each place. I may or may not have a mug obsession, but that’s up
for anyone’s opinion. I am a middle child and only girl in a family of five. And
last but not least, I have a four-year-old Maltese named Luna, who I am
absolutely in love with.
